Slow boot times of around 1m30s++

Hi there fellow CachyOS addicts. Thanks beforehand for reading and possibly helping me out.

I really tried to read & do everything related to CachyOS slow boot and shutdown issues online and although I tried some of the things that I read, issue still remains.

I am out of ideas and if anyone could help, it would be great.

Below you can find a log that I got from my system as well as various systemd-analyze outputs.

Let me know if I can provide anything else that may help you, help me.

Thanks beforehand and have a good day/afternoon/night.

Unplug USB devices and try again.

Thank you for your reply. Even though I have only my USB mouse+keyboard connected and NOTHING else related to USB, I have tried this and same slow boot.

I have also tried my other different USB keyboards+mice but same issue.

Any other ideas?

The lines in the kernel show very significant time with USB (almost a minute). It may be a usb port with issues if unplugging all USB devices didn’t help.

Once again thank you for your time and effort.

The following are true:

  • my motherboard Asrock X670E Pro RS has multiple USB ports that I have tried with my my devices in various ports & combinations
  • only my USB keyboard+mouse are plugged (no other USB devices)
  • tried plugging different USB keyboards+mice without my “default” ones
  • unplugging any and all USB devices doesn’t change the slow/long boot times

On the same computer and under VM installations of CachyOS or Nobara, I do have super fast boot times. Same is true with my other custom towers as well as my Alienware and Lenovo laptops.

Of course I recommended you tried it with EVERYTHING unplugged as a base line. Did you do that ?

Yes and I mentioned this fact on my 4th bullet point. Sorry if I confuse you with my English.

It wasn’t clear that you left them unplugged vs just moving them around.
Well then in that case, you almost certainly have a bad USB port (12 btw, though I don’t know how to figure out what one that is). At least based on the one boot record log you shared.

Wouldn’t this manifest under Windows 10 or 11 or while using my CachyOS?

Because I REALLY do not have ANY other issues besides this strange slow/long boot times (shutdowns too).

are you using flatpak or snapd ?

How do you mean? I have installed some flatpak apps in my system. Mostly I have installed apps through CachyOS Hello app.

do you use flatpak with autostart ?

Sorry for my late response. How can I check about this and if I need to change anything about it, how can I go about it? As far as my understanding concerned inside my ~/.config/autostart I have only the CachyOS Variety desktop wallpaper changing app.
