I’m using a dual monitor setup with a 120Hz laptop and a 144Hz external monitor with Cachy OS KDE Plasma Wayland. In the settings, there is a 144Hz option for the external monitor, but it seems that the external monitor is not displaying 144Hz. Instead, the laptop screen is smoother. Is there a source I can read to unlock 144Hz on the external monitor screen? I’ve already searched for solutions at any source, but nothing has worked yet. Thank yo
Is the external monitor connected through HDMI and you have an AMD GPU?
yes its connected through the HDMI aand im using NVDIA GPU GTX 1650Ti
Is it a dual GPU laptop? What I am getting at is that if it has an iGPU like AMD, it will be limited to the HDMI spec 2.0. Using the Nvidia GPU should not be a problem if you specify it as the output.
ohh yes it is dual gpu laptop, it has intel and nvidia, so do i need to specify the OS to use just nvidia gpu? or what the best solution i can do?
I am not sure because I don’t have a dual GPU laptop. Is it possible to use Intel for the laptop display and then Nvidia for external? That is probably ideal but if it will only take one choice then select Nvidia.
