Proton Game Freeze

Randomly the whole system freezes for a moment and then the game stays frozen and only the kill game works. No matter which version of Proton I use

looks like it’s an old issue, this xid 109, it takes nvidia years to fix issues on linux Multiple CUDA/RTX/Vulkan application crashing with Xid (13,109) errors - #439 by ventilhac - Linux - NVIDIA Developer Forums

Thank you for your help.

For other reasons I reinstalled the PC, changed the Desktop Environment and set the proton correctly. Since then I could not reproduce the problem.

Thanks

Which DE had the problem and which one did you switch to?

Well I was wrong, today I turned on World of Warcraft and it happened again  Before I was using Bottles for launching, now I’m using Lutris, I’ve also tried Steam for start with different versions of proton. The problem will be elsewhere…
To answer your question, I used Gnome before and now I’m trying KDE. (I’m not a fan of KDE because it reminds me a lot of Windows, but I’m trying to make friends with it.)

As I’m reading the thread on the Nvidia forum, I’m considering whether to try a graphics card from AMD

That’s the only solution for 90% of nvidia issues on linux.
