Physical buttons for brightness + lid closed for suspend on Lenovo V14-IIL 82C4

Hi there,

CachyOS is the first distro for my laptop where everything works out of the box.
By that, I mean the suspend when the laptop lid is closed, the brightness buttons, and the touchpad.

After installing a few apps, such as MegaSync, Nextcloud, setting up KDE Connect, Joplin, Thunderbird, and some other mainstream apps, I noticed that, all of a sudden, the brightness buttons and the suspend feature when the lid is closed stopped working.

I did not edit any config files prior the issue, nor did I change the Fn function filed in the BIOS.

So, I decided to try a fresh install again. However, even with the Live CD environment, the brightness buttons and suspend with lid still do not work.

Could it be that, even after erasing the disk for installation, some elements remain on SSD or RAM that affect the functionality? Does it make a difference whether the fresh installation is done after shutting down the laptop or after a reboot? Can you help?

No, that’s unlikely. If this wasn’t working in any other distribution and it worked for a while in CachyOS, I guess it’s just unstable functionality and it’s not really ironed out yet.
