No network cards detected on Lenovo ThinkStation - no video on second monitor

I have 2 network cards in my Lenovo ThinkStation P620 Desktop machine. None of them are using my internet connection.
I have properly installed the Cachy OS on the separate SSD external drive.
The ethernet internet connection was working fine in liveuser mode - but not so AFTER I have installed the system.
ALso when I drag my windows onto a secondary monitor I can only see the cursor - but not the window. So the monitor is detected, the graphics are displayed - but it does not display the actual graphic content - just the mouse pointer only.

I am using kernel 6.12 and Plasma desktop with ext4 filesystem.

Any advice how can I setup the internet connection while not having one?

now the cards are working by the way - i reinstalled the system using BTRFS instead of EXT4
and using classic boot menu instead of grub
that was the only change I’ve made in reinstalling the system

this came more from update kernel linux ( 6.12 lts series ) than boot & filesystem files
