Flatpak is not installed by default on CachyOS but it is fine to do so if you require it.
Discover is also not installed by default and likely won’t ever be due to incompatibility between it and pacman, making it error prone on all Arch Linux based systems like CachyOS. It can be used to manage Flatpaks and/or Snaps without issue since they are isolated from the system proper, but since it also allows for management of system packages it’s discouraged from general use.
This is somewhat alarming? There have been no CachyOS iso releases on August 2nd. At least for the past two years. In 2025 the August releases were on the 25th and then later the 28th to fix an issue with the first release. For good measure, the 2024 August release was on the 18th.
Was August 2nd the day you installed your OS, or was it actually an .iso dated August 2nd? If the latter is true, I’d have to imagine it came from an unofficial source.
