Happened to me too with an MSI mainboard. I can’t really remember how I managed to get it up and running again, let me search for the according thread…
Edit: here it is, although it will not be the solution to your predicament (I use rEFInd instead of Grub), It may give you an idea on what you have to to with your grub now.
