Installation fails because partition can't be resized

I have been trying to install CachyOS on my PC, which has been running Cachy before but I wanted to go with a Dual Boot setup instead of the single-boot partition that I was previously using. I used the “Install alongside” option and tried to shrink the Windows 11 partition that I had created beforehand.

Now when I try to install, I receive an error directly in the first step of the installation because the partition can´t be resized.

The log is in the above link. Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

Before running into this issue, I had also been trying to simply keep an unallocated / empty partition on my SSD, but that install failed because the bootloader couldn´t be installed. Now I created another clean win11 install in hopes it would resolve some of the issues. In this case though, it didn´t.

what have you chosen for os filesystem installation ?

I used BTRFS but I have solved it by now

The problem was two-fold

  • I still had Secure Boot on without knowing, so that was an issue
  • Second, the installation did in fact get GRUB working, but my UEFI only recognizes one Boot Manager per Drive, so I had to go into the settings and set GRUB as first in boot priority of it. After I did that, GRUB booted and I was able to get GRUB to work with Dual Boot after using os-prober.

so when i saw in your log ntfs resized , this is wrong … ( it means it try on your windows partition … )
