Greetings and good day.
I face the following problems after a fresh install.
Edit-SDDM problem fixed. It was just personal incompetence.
Suspend doesn’t work. The PC seems to get into suspend but it wakes up with no input after a few seconds.
Hibernation doesn’t work. This isn’t really a problem per se considering there is no swap partition or file, I just found it very strange as a choice.
Logout doesn’t work. loginctl terminate-user username results in a black screen with a flashing cursor.
And some extras that I don’t expect any support with since they are hyprland related but I thought I should report them anyway.
Graphical artifacts on fullscreen games on high refresh rates. This seems to be hyprlands fault. In sway things seem to work as intended. By the way is there a package for installing the cachyos settings for sway or the .dotfiles? Is it by any change the cachyos-i3wm-settings? Why does this packages conflicts with cachyos-hyprland-settings? I think it’s kind of peculiar that you can’t have both installed.
PS. I couldn’t create an account for the forum since the verification e-mails where never received. Just to be clear, I did check my spam folder. I managed to make this post by reviving an old and forgotten github account.

Thank you for you time.
You should look into the suspend issue, I think I saw some posts about it. The hibernation is not going to work without swap. The other things might be hyprland related.

If you would be so kind to point me towards those posts about the suspend issue? I don’t seem to able to find the one/s you are talking about.

In hyprland the logout issue is inconsistent. It is in sway that I am completely unable to log out.

As I acknowledged in my post. I just find it strange for a default installation of a distro to lack a swap partition and thus the ability to hibernate. Almost feels like an omission rather than a conscious choice.
Another issue that I noticed is that in sway I seem to experience a noticeable performance drop in quake II rtx where in hyprland I average around 57fps on sway it seems to be capped at 45fps.
Swap partitions for desktop aren’t really much of a thing anymore…because of how much memory they typically have, so swap is unneeded or unused if present.
I have one…and I have never ever seen more than 512k getting used (not exactly sure what’s getting swapped out…but sure not much).
To anyone who might still be interested. I re-installed the OS using only sway as a WM, this fixed the logout issue but the suspend issue still remains. I would really appreciate some help with this one.
Logging out doesn’t work. Seems to be a KDE bug.
Use Switch User instead.
