How can we test KDE 6.1 Beta without breaking the system?

Hello I just saw KDE 6.1 Beta is out with a bunch of “improvements” is there a way to get them on Cachy os and test 'em without breaking our systems?
Thank you.

Hi Javi,

Yes, you can do that, but actually follow exactly the instructions:

  1. Add extra-testing and kde-unstable repository over any other repository. This should look like this: /etc/pacman.conf
[kde-unstable]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[cachyos-v4]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/cachyos-v4-mirrorlist
[cachyos-core-v4]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/cachyos-v4-mirrorlist
[cachyos-extra-v4]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/cachyos-v4-mirrorlist
[cachyos]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/cachyos-mirrorlist
[core]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[extra]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

This is an example for the v4 repository.

After that run: sudo pacman -Syu

And then comment/remove the extra-testing and kde-unstable repository again from pacman.conf

Then you have the latest Plasma _Beta installed

QT6.7.1 is now in stable. Extra-testing repository is not required anymore.
