Hello from France

Hello community !
I’ve been using CachyOS for a few month and had a great start with it. :+1:
First installs went smooth and I was able to get everything working pretty easily (even my nintendo switch controller)

Lately I’m getting more in a love & hate relation because I’m getting some bad failures at every update, which I’ll detail in another post.

When it works it’s fantastic, but last week I had to re-install after some failed updates. It was a terrible experience, I had multiple issues and errors. At some point I tried other distros, all failed more or less hardly to install (with fedora based giving me kernel panic right after starting ^^)

At some point I even installed windows again, and if it wasn’t for the switch controller I could have give up !

But I tried CachyOS again and finally got to installed everything, and it all worked good.

Now it’s been five days and I’ve just went into a update which broke my system again ! I fear I might have to re-install everything again

I really hope I find a way to keep a stable system

Anyway thank you for your work and I wish the best to the project for the future

Well except for me, myself, and I, Cachy has been very stable for me. I only reinstalled once in the last year…and that because I put in a new drive and the device names changed, triggering a stupid mistake where I made a new fs over my installation.
Unless you have some kind of squirelly hardware (Nvidia comes to mind), you MUST be doing something wrong.

Thx guys ! I’m indeed using a Nvidia card ! Also I’m using gnome not KDE …
