GUI Installer doesn't show up (Reached target Graphical Interface OK) for new Lunar Lake laptop

Maybe similar to the problem in this thread: Problem in GUI Installer (with SDDM)

I’ve tried booting with both CachyOS and CacyOS Legacy Hardware (GPU nomodeset).

systemctl status sddm.service shows that it’s active and running, however, I can’t find it switching through VTTYs

I can get to TTY and have just run cachyos-bugreport.sh: 072d39d

This is brand new hardware (a new Lunar Lake laptop, an MSI Prestige 13 AI+ EVO A2VMG) that just arrived so it’s possible that there’s incompatibilities?

I’m a long time Linux/Arch user so I’m pretty familiar with the internals, but not very familiar w/ Cachy or Calamares. I guess I’ll just do a regular arch-chroot install for now (should be using the right repos, right?)

Eh? Lunar Lake?

It also does not work with the latest ISO? (yesterday release)?

It would likely require a 6.12 Kernel, since there are the Lunar Lake additons in, i guess.

When I manually setup/installed, I was able to get GDM/GNOME running, albeit at 800x600 with the default arch kernel (6.1.0) and mesa so maybe it’s something else. I did install mainline (6.1.2rc1) to get the display properly working properly (also media keys, and wifi - a Killer version of AX231).

For those curious at a quick look at the hardware, looks like basically only the Goodix fingerprint is incompatible (there is an IR camera as well, will have to see if that works in Linux sometime): HW probe of MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo ... #9be89b2454

Yeah, 6.12 is still since shortly available. I would suggest you to either install via CLI and pacstrap and install the CachyOS stuff manually (e.g repos, cachyos-settings and co).

Besides that our RC Kernel will be likely tomorrow up, so you can use this one too.
mesa-git is in the repostiory. I will bump it one more time for you
