Greetings lovely people!,
I’m 40 years old from Turkiye & in touch with computer and stuff since 1996 ( good old times MSDOS 6.22 & Windows 3.11 sigh )
As years have gone by, time to get refreshed and stay out of silly actions of what MS do in these days, like telemetry, ads, tracking and data procession in the name of big brothers… (this is my own concern by the way)
Tbh, until now ; I’ve never used any of distro for a week or so… Always installed Linux and scared with the tiniest issue I’ve had then went back to Windows… It was like an endless loop.
But yes, it’s time to make a certain step and forget Windows at all.
My specs ( Desktop from 2010 )
X58 Chipset with 1st gen i7 930
GTX 1050
240 ssd + 1 tb hdd
18gigs of ddr3 memory
Realtek chipset usb wifi dongle
My aim is
To install CachyOS into my whole SSD, but I want my “Desktop” and “Downloads” folders to be stored in my HDD only.
Let’s assume my ssd will be recognized as SDA1 and my hdd is SDB1
I want to format both drivers as BTRFS as my huge USB external drive (8tb) was formatted as NTFS and I’ll just plug it whenever I need it.
How I can automatically set up this in installation?
Will my spec be enough for my goals?
