Left side is Gnome-Calculator from cachyos-extra-znver4 Repo, on the right is the Flatpak Version.
Might be a font issue? Or localisation?
(No issue on my Manjaro System)

Yes fresh install, Cinnamon DE. Same issue in Gnome. Same issue in KDE (tested in virtual machine).
I’m on cachyos-znver4 Repo.
Maybe it’s something with VMs? What about trying the packages from Arch’s repos? sudo pacman -S extra/gnome-calculator
Hmmm strange, what about changing locale to English? I’m just grasping at straws at this point.
Changed locale to English - same issue.
Cinnamon DE.
Were both DEs tested in a virtual machine? Or was Cinnamon on bare metal?
Cinnamon/Gnome real install. KDE/LXDE in VM.
Same issue everywhere.
Never had this issue before.

I don’t know. I can’t reproduce.
I booted Cachy Live iso (240818). Installed gnome-calculator. No issue.
After installing the live system (KDE) the issue occurs.
So during install there is a system upgrade and the repos switch to znver4.
So my guess is, it must have something to do with a znver4 package.
But what package is responsible for those special characters x² …?
