Hello everyone. I have installed Gnome and Cosmic together. When I now connect an external drive or a USB stick, for example, the Cosmic file manager opens instead of nautilus. Can I change this somehow?
It’s never really a good idea/best practice to install more than one DE using the same User login. The potential of one DE stomping on the other DE configuration is very high. That is most likely what is going on here. You should create a different user for each DE to prevent that from happening, however keep in mind that will only keep user configs from stomping on each other it may still be possible for the DE to clash if they are updating common system configuration items. I honestly don’t know enough about it to say for certain. It’s why I also keep DE I’m playing with on completely separate installations or in Virtual machines (unfortunately cosmic doesn’t really work in virtual machine at this time from the little bit I played with it).
In short running more than one DE is typically going to give you headaches lol, especially when one of them is still in Alpha testing stages of development.

This is now the only “problem” I have, otherwise everything runs smoothly.
