Have you checked your firmware options for things like AHCI/SATA mode, secure-boot, or simply just the boot entries or their order?

Discover should only be used to update, icons, themes, and Plasma applets / widgets.

Eh, the fwupd wrapper is not really known to have issues either. The main thing to avoid about discover is ALPM packages (thats Arch/Cachy packages) - which it uses packagekit to manage. I’ve never looked into using EFI commandline tools, but will give it a try later, if they exist. This is a Microsoft product - there are literally 8 options and that includes “Exit” (and “Device Info” and “Kiosk mode”). In total, there are maybe 10 user-configurable options.
