Firefox can't play videos

I don’t know, I’ve tried enough now.

core kernel, drivers, codecs.

Brave does the same I assume chromium crap won’t work.

I give up, I can’t even run a video but everything else works.

Maybe I’ll come look at linux when things like x11/wayland and sound THINGS aren’t proper retarded.

And I’m not even using Wayland. Though I somehow think it broke things along with LXQT.

Reinstalled all my sound things. Drivers etc.

Start Firefox. OH HOLY CRAP IT ISN’T LAGGING.

Turns on sound. nvm.

Sadly and disgustingly it works through pulse.

As I need low latency. And through WINE as well.

This simply sucks.

Just browser working.
Using CachyOS, last thing I installed, was no different to the others.

Okay so I don’t have

pulseaudio
pulseaudio-alsa
pulseaudio-jack
pulseaudio-xxx(no pulseaudio is what I am saying)

pipewire-jack
pipewire-jack-client

But I have.
Wireplumber
New-session-manager

jack-example-tools
jack2
jack2-dbus
jack2-stdio

libpulse

pipewire
pipewire-alsa
pipewire-audio
pipewire-session-manager

I’ll check if wineasio works.Should as it is jack afaik.

Previously PulseAudio worked with FLStudio through WINE, no underruns at 256 buffer but with FLSasio, which is wasapi based, and idk how WINE handles that(the amount of convolution is a bit convoluted).

Though it did seem legit, but I also reduced latency in pulseaudio plugin, which I have no idea if it really did anything. CPU usage was pretty heavy, seemed worse than usual. But it worked. and so did the browser.

I’ll check without Pulse after reboot in a while and post back. Maybe it’ll help someone. But probably I will in the meantime DISM a new win11 mess, which I have no real want for but hey…

Well. Everything works for me. Just more manual and gotta know to run jack before etc.

I was using labwc and it was pretty good, I believe that is what XFCE was using as well. (it apparently does wayfire or something as well).

It worked better than LXQT already and LXQT messed with config files which I haven’t even tried touching.

Hope this helps someone else.

Blabla

I may strip down my install from XFCE to labwc only. Maybe do something like autologin with lightdm if that’s an option.

But highly dependent on how wayland and wine interact and handle windows / focusing. I think I need to adjust labwc configs for that. Maybe it just isn’t suitable as a floating WM, idk. I shall find out I guess.

I’m a nub who runs Windows Audio software on Linux for lols. But not gonna lie, it works okay.

CachyOS saves so much time, I appreciate you guys seriously. It performs really well, the patches included are awesome, it manages my cpu well, etc etc!

Love it but still have to blablas

Arch/pacman, Also I just enjoy using too much.
plus
With Windows I’d have had to reinstall if somethings like this had to occur. To say the least…

WINE works better than I thought it would. Still will have to main Windows probably if I can’t sort some other WINE related things out unfortunately. NTffs.
