After trying multiple options i cannot seem to get it to work. heres what i have done. also log file:https://termbin.com/ukrd
I have:
clean formatted the ssd
checked i had the latest iso
reset bios options
tried grub2 and normal boot in ventoy
Manually synced pacman
Manually set mirrors
Reinstalled medicat
Nothing seems to get it to work. I have not tried installing another desktop as of yet but will do that now. I would prefer to use hyprland though due to it being my main wm of choice.
Yeah I noticed that, I’m currently doing a bunch of tests so I’ll let you know if I fix it and how I did it if noone replies before I resolve the issue myself.
Main reason I’m using cachy is for hyprland and the optimizations I reinstall arch a lot and set up hyprland manually which takes a hot few hours, my laptop is used as a test rig so tend to break things a lottt lol
I join you! I also have the same problem. Just yesterday I was able to install CachyOS without any problems. https://termbin.com/9ciw
Today I have this:
Same exact issue here. Initially tried installing with Plasma, but just for kicks also tried XFCE and both resulted in this error.
I know other people were having this issue due to not using the latest ISO, but I don’t believe that’s the problem here. I downloaded the latest ISO direct.
Yeah it’s why I made sure to specify, everything I could find was “update iso” when that’s not the case here.
It seems to be a mess update or something at least related causing the problem so I don’t think downgrading to an older iso would even fix it. But I will try now to see.
This was due to the recent packaging change in Arch. libva-mesa-driver and mesa-vdpau are now part of the mesa package as both are part of libgallium now. It seems it’s not picking up replaces() correctly.
There is already a pull request that will address this but it’ll take some time for it to get merged as the relevant devs are unavailable right now. I have created a build with that patch. Can you try if it works? Steps below
