Imagine how surprised i was to throw CachyOS on my little 7th Gen Intel NUC and still see a blazing fast Linux distro, with the kind of snappiness ive never before seen in decades of Linux fiddling . This is also my first experience with an Arch base distro (ive long favoured Mint over its bloated and kludgy and slow Ubuntu base), and id long been aware it might be a steep curve for the initiated, but the learning curve has been gentle for me. Ive got a similar working setup to my previous Windows install , with dnscrypt-proxy running in full DOH mode and all…
Two small issues:
-
My Ext USB drive would only mount randomly - mounted fine in windows…a quick set back to clean via nfts-3g tools and it snow working fine - not sure how it got marked dirty…
-
XDMan would only run as root - wtf? A quick google gave this, though it still wont run from the menu, only shell and the tray icon still remains elusive
