After updating from Cosmic Alpha 5 to 6, I’ve noticed that most of the features mentioned in the Cosmic blog post are missing. The new smaller scaling increments are present so the upgrade definitely happened, but features such as the launcher scroll bar and remembering the numlock status aren’t there at all.
I have packaged these in archlinux and they are all on the latest commit. Maybe its an upstream bug.
I usually assume there may be some filesystem component at work, ie config files, because I seemingly have noticed the same thing back on the alpha1 or alpha2.
One of the issues seems to be that the pop-launcher package is “out of date”.
At least one of the new features advertised in the blog looks to be from one of the commits more recent than the latest release. Since the Arch package is built from the release’s tag, the launcher in Cosmic is missing a few bits.
Looking into pop-launcher was a tip from Cosmic devs but everything else I said is from me very briefly looking into the Arch pkgbuild and the pop-launcher commits so I could be wrong, but it could be worth a look?
Many thanks for the responses!
