Compatibility issue with Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura (15ILL9) on CachyOS

I agree with @mbc-pro, boot the live installer and see if everything works or attach a USB SSD or HDD and install to that first before messing with the built-in nvme drive.

I tested CachyOS on an external USB HDD before committing to using it on my laptop.

In general, you may need to add some kernel arguments and blacklist some kernel modules (e.g. intel_oc_wdt broke resuming from S0ix suspend for me) and for Lenovo IdeaPads in particular, see this thread:

I had to edit usr/lib/initcpio/install/block comment out a line and run sudo mkinitcpio -P to get my touchpad working again. There was also an issue with older mesa 25.2.6 causing the xe kernel driver to reset my igpu when playing Dragon Quest 11 or using Darktable, but the mesa-git package fixed that issue and 25.3.1 seems to work fine too.
