Cachy-Browser Freeze [Solved]

As tittle states, it s dead frozen on a fresh install, wonder if I remove/reinstall if it will solve that issue, anyone else s having the same issue !

Edit: I wasn t able to sync with Firefox Sync on Cachy Browser at all as well as I/we used too.

Well , removing & reinstalling didn t solved the issue.

I m on FF right now, a little backup.

Will it show anything helpful through the terminal:

/usr/lib/cachy-browser/cachy-browser

Thx @1fallen

Same results as before; Finally was able to edit ! lol

❯ /usr/lib/cachy-browser/cachy-browser

~
❯ Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[G0][GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt (t=4.06347) [GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt

Exiting due to channel error.

Well Dang @ptr1337 or @naim will have to look into this one, it acts as though it running “headless”
ie:

/usr/lib/cachy-browser/cachy-browser --headless

You are running in headless mode.
Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt (t=0.460137) [GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer, no dt

I have the same results @1fallen

Yep you should have the same.
Peter is going to have to jump in here, I’ve never seen that error on a non-headless machine. :frowning:

Yes sir, I ve had issues here & there since last Thursday s big Arch updates I would think.

Bet that I never had so many small issues on Arch/Arch-Derived distros before.

It happens, stick around more to come LOL

You know I’ve never seen anyone get things fixed as fast as @ptr1337 dose it.

I live by this saying on Arch “cutting edge denotes falling off the edge, best to bring a parachute”.

Lol, you bet sir !

Edit: When I used to be on Sid or Sid-Based distros years ago, it wasn t any better I would say !

Well , I reinstalled CachyOS & rechecked Cachy Browser & all s fine now.

Bet that it was a boched install that had some issues here & there ( LigthDM manager wasn t starting by itself, had to start from terminal, but it s something else, now it s good.

Off Topic

Since you are obviously a fan of the Xfce desktop, I would like to recommend a little reading: Suggestions for setting up Xfce Garuda - FAQ and Tutorials - Garuda Linux Forum A pretty good guide to Xfce.

Thx for the link @Sunda-Spirit , appreciated, I m more an OpenBox fan but Cachy OS s XFCE s pretty nice.

No offense. It was just an idea :slightly_smiling_face:

Great idea ,Thx, bookmarked it.

I use Cachy XFCE version as I like it, I might find something in there.

Xfce is pretty by default, no question about it.
But customizing Xfce, no matter which distribution, is a bit more difficult than in KDE.
Have fun discovering.

Yes sir, I ll leave it like that for a while & maybe pimp it out as time goes @Sunda-Spirit .
